TRUE POVERTY

LESSON FROM HADITH

TRUE POVERTY

The Prophet (ﷺ) asked those at his session: “Tell me who is the bankrupt?” All replied that someone without any money is bankrupt. The Prophet (ﷺ) commented: “The bankrupt of my community is he who on the Day of Judgment appears as a wrong doer, guilty of having abused or slandered someone or usurped someone’s belongings or killed or oppressed someone. His victims will be credited with his good deeds. If all of his good actions are exhausted on account of this credit, the sins of his victims will be loaded on to him and he will be hurled into Hell.” (Muslim)
He also said: “On the Day of Judgment all victims will be granted their due. If a horned goat hit a weak, helpless goat without horns, it will be avenged.”
(Tirmidhi)
